Our society has long celebrated the values of independence and self-reliance, equating them with personal success and achievement. While these qualities undoubtedly have their merits, it is crucial to question the notion that total individualism is the key to a healthy and fulfilling life. In fact, we must recognize the immense strength that arises from unity and communal support. This blog post explores the benefits of coming together as a community, rejecting the illusion of self-sufficiency, and embracing the ancestral way of tribal living.
The Strength in Unity:
The powers that be, whether they are governments, corporations, or other influential entities, often perpetuate the mindset of individualism to maintain control over the masses. They understand that when we are isolated, we are easier to manipulate and divide. However, it is when we come together, when we form strong and supportive communities, that our collective power becomes evident. By uniting, we can advocate for change, support one another in times of need, and create a harmonious society that benefits all.
Support and Upliftment:
Living in community allows us to support and uplift one another. In times of difficulty or personal struggle, having a network of people who genuinely care and are willing to lend a helping hand can make a world of difference. We no longer have to shoulder burdens alone or face challenges in isolation. Together, we can share resources, skills, and knowledge, creating a nurturing environment where each member can thrive and contribute to the greater good.
Fostering Confidence and Individuality:
Contrary to popular belief, embracing community does not mean losing one’s individuality. On the contrary, it provides a fertile ground for personal growth and self-expression. When we have a strong support system, we feel more confident to explore our unique talents and gifts. Instead of being burdened by the weight of complete self-reliance, we can focus on developing our passions and contributing our strengths to the collective. In a community that values individuality, each person’s unique qualities are celebrated and nourished, leading to a more vibrant and diverse society.
Returning to Tribal Living:
As modern society progresses, there is a growing movement towards returning to the ancestral way of tribal living. This reconnection with our roots acknowledges that humans are inherently social beings, designed for community. In tribal living, the interdependence of individuals is valued, and everyone has a role to play in the collective well-being. By embracing this lifestyle, we can rediscover a sense of belonging and purpose, fostering deep connections with both our fellow humans and the natural world.
Manifesting a Life Immersed in Community:
From my perspective, as someone deeply connected to my Native American Creek tribal heritage through my mother’s side, I eagerly anticipate a life immersed in community, surrounded by my chosen companions. I yearn for a lifestyle where we nurture the land and live in harmony with Mother Earth. The homestead life, the community garden life, and the simplicity that accompanies it—I am actively manifesting these experiences. By engaging with like-minded individuals and participating in communal projects, we can co-create the communities and lives we envision, rooted in togetherness and shared values.
While our society has ingrained in us the idea that individualism is paramount, we must challenge this belief and recognize the power of community. By coming together, supporting one another, and embracing our unique strengths, we can build a society that is stronger, more compassionate, and more harmonious. Let us reject the illusion of self-reliance and manifest a life immersed in community, where we thrive collectively and honor our innate desire for connection and belonging.
